XTERRA Footwear went Hollywood recently when we helped sponsor a celebrity triathlon in Hawaii. Tag the World and a local Hawaiian charity “It Takes an O’hana” put on the Celebrity Tri to benefit local foster youth. The race had 250 participants with 25 celebrities racing. Some of the celebrities that participated were Laird Hamilton, Gabby Reese, Matt Schulze Darin Brooks, Michael Copon, Sean Faris, Clayne Crawford, Ryan Eggold, Rebecca Mader, Kyle Lowder, Arianna Zucker, Drew Lachey, Mehcad Brooks, Heather Tom, Anthony Anderson, Andy Baldwin, Robert Parks-Valletta, Amber Valletta, Wilmar Valderamma, Nicole Eggert, Chris Judd, and Sacha Edwards.
Each celebrity was paired up with a sponsor child and all proceeds went to help out local foster youth programs.
Thanks to the help of Hannah Cornett, actress, Pro-triathlete and model, we were able to give some XR1.0’s as prizes for the race as well as give a pair to all the celebrities that participated. A number of Celebrities had a chance to wear the shoes and they had some very positive things to say about them. Check out some of the comments from the celebrity racers.
